White Lady’s Bridge

A new stress ribbon bridge located in Lydford Gorge in Dartmoor, Devon. The bridge replaces an old, more traditional timber structure crossing the river Lyd at the foot of 30m high White Lady waterfall.

Selected by the National Trust from a number of feasibility options, the new bridge provides a safe passage as well as a viewing platform for the nearby waterfall.

Opened to the public in early autumn 2016, for all-year-round use. Momentum’s structural design and careful detailing ensure that the new structure will provide simple service to the visitors with minimal bridge maintenance for many years to come.
