This popular venue hosts a variety of sporting and entertainment events, making versatility an important factor in the design of its new stand and roof.

The partially-demountable structure is made up of 11 bays 10.86m wide with cantilevers over the stairs 8m and 20m deep, supporting a 4000m2 weather-proof membrane. Once assembled, the stand holds nearly 5,000 seats. It can be entirely demounted, allowing it to be relocated, or aspects of its structure to be reassembled in different configurations.

The construction was completed within 11 weeks and the environmental impact significantly offset through its minimal use of materials and the fabrication of its membrane in the UK.
