Angels' Wine Tower

Momentum won a competition to design a 15-m tall wine tower as an eye-catching centerpiece for the atrium of Radisson Blu’s new hotel in Zurich. The project required the integration of theatrical rigging systems and the design of a structure capable of withstanding seismic vibrations.

Wine towers are an unusual fusion of performance theatre and brand-enhancing retail experience. ‘Wine Angels’ perform aerial acrobatics as they retrieve bottles ordered by customers to the backdrop of a music and light display.

The permanent glass-encased structure is capable of storing 4,000 temperature-controlled bottles. The wine cases contain integral LED lighting operated by a central system, enhancing the Wine Angels’ theatrical journey up and down the tower.
